## How to do it
1. Select the files in Finder, pick them with @ in the bar, or name them in plain words ("my last pdf").
2. Double-tap the right Option key to open the bar.
3. Type “rename it to Invoice March”.
4. Press Return. The new file appears next to the original.

### Type
- rename it to Invoice March
- add today's date to these
- number them
- replace "draft" with "final" in these
- rename my last pdf to 'need edit' at the end

### What you get

Renames in place; the extension never changes unless asked. More than one file shows old → new names first. Undo puts them back.

The original is never changed or overwritten. Undo trashes what the job made.

Dates are written like 2026-11-02. Numbers count from the oldest file, or say “newest first”.

### The free Mac way

Finder → select → Rename… (good for simple cases).

### Limits
- Free without a license key.
