Get Whizra

Changelog

What’s been built into Whizra, newest first. Whizra isn’t out yet: the first release will include everything below.

  1. Change your license key from the license window; the old key keeps working until the new one is accepted.

  2. Clicking away or switching Spaces closes the bar, and opening it again within 5 minutes brings back your sentence, files and chat. The @ list shows the kind of file your sentence is about first. Files show their own icons.

  3. The bar became a chat: your sentence moves up, and Whiz answers below it with the result. “it” means the file in focus, and you can pin one. Up to 6 tasks at once (⌘N). Long jobs show their steps and time left and can keep going in the background, with a notification when they’re done; batches show each file as it’s made. History (⌘Y) with Open, Again and Undo.

  4. New jobs: PDF to Word; PowerPoint (.pptx) and Excel (.xlsx) to PDF; remove the background from photos. Close one window by name, and quit everything except the apps you name. Terminal shortcuts: open Ghostty or Terminal in a folder with a command you saved. A savings counter, with a picture to share.

  5. Rename files (to a name, with today’s date, numbered, replacing words), move, copy, make folders and add Finder tags, all with Undo. Ask what a file is about, or how many pages it has and where it came from.

  6. More PDF jobs: lock with a password, remove a password you know, rotate pages, add page numbers, and make scans searchable.

  7. Find files from plain words: “what did I download yesterday?”, “the zip from subdl.com”, “my 8th last pdf”. Questions show a list and never run a job.

  8. Picture jobs: convert (JPG, PNG, HEIC), compress, resize, and remove location and camera details. Zip with a password (AES-256). Play an episode in VLC with its subtitles. When a setting isn’t clear, quick buttons ask; choices you make twice are remembered. Works from the Shortcuts app. A welcome screen with a sample PDF to try. Sentences in 12 languages, plus Sinhala typed in Latin letters.

  9. Lecture slides (PDF or PowerPoint) to notes: a picture of every slide, the pictures inside, and the text as Markdown and plain text.

  10. The first build: double-tap the right Option key for the bar, @ to pick files, PDF jobs (compress, merge, split, keep or remove pages, extract pictures), Word to PDF, and sentences of up to three steps (“merge these and compress it”).

Every line here is a job or feature that exists in the app. What it can’t do yet: limits.
