Can Siri convert files on Mac?

Not yet. On macOS 27, Siri AI found files and summarised them well, but answered “I can’t…” when asked to convert, compress, rename or zip them (tested 27 and 28 Oct 2026).

What we asked

“my last pdf”: found and showed the file.
“what is my last pdf about?”: a good summary from the file’s content.
“convert this to docx”: “I can’t convert files to different formats”.
“rename my last pdf”, “compress my last pdf”, “zip this with a password”: “I can’t…”.

Doing the job

Whizra does those jobs from one sentence: convert this to pdf, compress it, zip with password 1234, rename these with today’s date. It also adds “Do a File Job” and “Find Files” actions to the Shortcuts app.
